Ruby Tuesday, next oldest, lay in Madeline’s spot in the van when the dogs went to take trash. Ruby used to stay home with Madeline, who was never a fan of taking trash.
And that’s it. We expected more changes as Madeline seemed to rule the house with an iron paw, but really no big changes.
Joe thinks our remaining four pups are calmer. I haven’t noticed this.
Maddie’s remains are not “home” with us yet. If I remember correctly, the crematorium people pick up on Monday afternoons and Maddie wasn’t euthanized until early evening, so things still feel unsettled to me.
My good friend Al Huey died unexpectantly last Wednesday. Seems I also lose a human friend when one of my pups crosses the bridge. Perhaps they are in orientation together.
