Our youngest pup is Menia. I just took this photo of her.
She has the softest fur. We think she is around 3 – 4 years old. She came to the USA from China last February. After being rejected by two families we adopted her. She is a bit of a pain in the butt as she barks at the tv. Used to be she barked at the tv A LOT. Barking is MUCH less now. She also barks at everyone and everything when we go for a walk. Every dog in the neighborhood responds.
She’s also an obstruction surgery waiting to happen as she’s eaten the squeakers out of two toy boxes full of toys. I’ve gotten really good at scooping toy parts out of her mouth and buying tuff toys….if there is such a thing.
She’s our pup whose taurine level was a bit low at 240. Her left heart chamber also pumps more slowly. We’ve made some dietary changes and are supplementing with taurine so I’ve been closely following the issue of Taurine Deficient Cardiomyopathy in golden retrievers.
Menia brought a lot of spice to our pack. She is deferential to our senior girl, Madeline, and plays with all four of our other goldens. She’s a great snuggler.
She LOVES to chew….bully sticks, raw marrow bones and especially Himalayan Yak chews.
She also likes to cool off in the pool. She looks like a chunky girl, but she only weighs 55 lbs. She’s just really fluffy. We’re really happy we added her to our pack.
